Fergie to tell all in new book: Ex-United boss promises not to hold back on details on Rooney, Ruud and Beckham

Alex Ferguson has warned Manchester United players past and present that he will hold nothing back when his book is released this week.
Ferguson’s new book hits this shelves on Tuesday and is set to cover the period from 1999 – when his first autobiography was released - to the time he retired at the end of last season.
And Ferguson has promised to reveal all, including the saga surrounding Wayne Rooney and the sales of David Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy to Real Madrid.

The autobiography is expected to repeat the former manager’s claims that Rooney asked for a move last season, something that the player feels was a misrepresentation of a conversation the pair had when he was expressing his frustrations about playing in midfield.
Ferguson told MUTV: ‘You know the problem with doing a book is you have to bring in the elements and factors which in many ways either affected or determined your decision-making.
‘But because I’ve been at the club such a long time and you’re building team after team after team, there are areas that you can’t ignore.
'Like why we sold certain players like David Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

'You can’t ignore these because these guys were big, big figures in Manchester United’s history.'
Ferguson reveals in the book that losing out on the title to Manchester City in 2012 was the biggest blow in his career and he said he set about trying the wrestle the trophy back from his noisy neighbours.

Ferguson added: ‘I’ve never spent so much time in the video analysis room.’
Ferguson said of his last season at Old Trafford when he spent hours in a mini-cinema studying his own team as well as opponents for clues about how to knock City off their new perch.

On the time from his last book from winning the treble to now, Ferguson added: ‘From then to 2013 were maybe the most exciting years because the changes in management and Manchester United and football were huge — new ownership, new technology, sports science.
'You must embrace the change, you need to have the humility to do that.
'Progress is progress and you cannot stop it.'
